Black athletes and Ethnic groups have evolved to be an important aspect of the culture in sports. The historic importance of these athletes have periodically shown from past issues that it doesn't matter what color of skin or ethnic background you have. It shouldn't impact the opportunies you are given. There have been many athletes who have come before our time with different colors of skin and beliefs in ethnicity. Black athletes are not given enough credit for their achievements and always pushing the boundary of color and ethnicity. In my time seeing black athletes perform, it's always a joy to see how much they can do on a professional level, and as a caucasian American I feel as though black athletes and ethnic groups alike as said aren't given the notoriety that they so very much deserve.

The journey black athletes and enthic groups alike have traversed through to achieve inclusivity have been faced with enormous challenges. Even though the past had shown racist and bigotry against race and ethnicity, in my opinion there has been an equal amount of welcoming changes in time that has alllowed athletes of such to succeed. One of the most prolific faces of black athletes known around sports and to myself as a baseball player is Jackie Robinson, and with the troubles he faced when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, he was ultimately the man to break the barrier for his athleticism and tough play for being a black man in a time when no one supported black athletes in sports. Jackie Robinson paved the way for so many black athletes in baseball, and he's honored for this by the MLB having a Jackie Robinson day where all teams wear the league-wild retired number 42 to symbolize inclusivity.

In conclusion, the intersection of race and ethnicity in sports reflects the broader struggles that have been endured throughout history. It highlights the triumph that was fought for to be what sports have become today. In my personal opinion the effort needs to be ongoing in support for inclusion of black athletes and different ethnical minorities in sports. It needs to be insured that sports truly become a platform for diversity and unity.
