TED Talk 2: Boys and Girls Competing Together

In John Brenkus's Ted Talk "Why Girls And Boys Should Compete With Eachother In Sports", Brenkus's main point is that a lot of analytical information that goes into differentiating men and women regarding their place in women's or men's sports is flawed. Brenkus believes that it's insulting for men and women to be seperated in sports, and uses claims of NFL running backs and how much they weigh and how tall they are will affect how fast they run, then going into the distances between men and women golfers and the distrances they hit a golf ball with analytical evidence. The flaw of Brenkus's Ted Talk is he doesn't take into account the human factor of men and women in specific sports. Brenkus used golf out of all sports to make this claim, and the fact of the matter is golf is a non-contact sport that is an individual achievement sport.

Now, put a woman into football and see how long she would last against a 300 pound left tackle on the line. Put a softball player who hits a bigger sized baseball colored yellow, thrown underhand from only 20 feet closer only up to 60 miles per hour at most in a batter's box against a 90 mile per hour baseball pitcher, from what i've seen it doesnt end up that well. This is why we have different jobs in society too. Unless you are a activist who wants the equal pay stuff and petition all those things, you can tell from a societal standpoint some jobs of physical labor there are not much to never any women performing these jobs of physicality. To conclude, I believe though some specific sports doesn't require the seperation of women and men, like golf, but if you put a woman into a man's sport that is a contact sport that showcases the physicality of the athlete, I do not believe this claim from Brenkus would hold up well at all.
